Originally the château of one of the premier wine-producing families of France,
Relais de Margaux blends a prestigious past with all the modern facilities of a
top class hotel. In the intimacy of a 19th-century château, the rooms are
prettily furnished in traditional French and British style, at the same time
preserving all the elegance and sophistication of a nation that knows all about
'the art of living'. Between the mighty River Gironde and the Atlantic are the
rolling fertile vineyards of the Médoc where wine is king. Out of respect for it,
comes gastronomic excellence, a doctrine to which Relais de Margaux
enthusiastically subscribes. The master chef has a repertoire of the highest
calibre using home-grown produce and local specialities such as crab,
langoustine and eels. You expect the wine list to be exceptional - and it is -
and you can wrestle with your choice in the restaurant set, as if in veneration,
amongst the wine racks of the ancient cellars. |

Paris
Towards Merignac Airport, over the large bridge Aquitaine, take exit
7 in the direction of Verdon. Afterwards, follow Blanquefort then
Macau/Labarde/Pauillac (Road D2); you will get through Macau,
Labarde, Cautenac and finally arrive at Margaux. Go through the
village of Margaux and at the end of the village, turn right and
follow the sign for Relais de Margaux along the vineyards, after 2
km, you will reach the hotel.
Arriving from the Airport
Take direction Rocade Paris, then take exit 7 direction Verdon/Lacanau
and follow signs for Blanquefort as described as above. |

wing. Their decor features a blend of old and
contemporary styles with solid oak fittings and

doors with neighbouring rooms, making them ideal for
families.
