Set in 130 acres of parkland and ancient woodland, bordered
by the River Dronne, and at the end of an avenue guarded by plane trees, Château
Le Mas de Montet is a beautifully restored Renaissance-style château which
offers elegant charm, supreme comfort and complete relaxation. A delightful
blend of rolling hills, forest and waterways surrounds this magnificent place,
where guests get the opportunity to relax and explore the Dordogne, the Charente,
and the Bordeaux region. After a three year renovation program, this beautiful
place has been decorated to a high standard with sumptuous furniture and
fascinating objects d’art. A wonderful country house atmosphere, with attentive
but unpretentious service, which is very individual and owes itself to the
welcoming hosts themselves is felt throughout. Each room has its own individual
character. All the curtains and bed-hangings have been hand-made using fabrics
from famous houses, and most have been included supremely comfortable, with
luxurious pocketed spring mattresses four-poster beds. wake up to a stunning
view, and after extracting yourself from the comfort of your four poster, petit-dejeuner
will soothe you into the day. Everything homemade and delicately presented to
the highest standard possible.
A lot of importance is placed on relaxation at the Château. Strolling in the
grounds, chilling out in elegant luxury, relaxing in the swimming pool, and wine
or chocolate tasting, are some of the options. Finally the intimate but discreet
ambience of the restaurant is something special. An imaginative menu, and the
top quality ingredients which are skillfully employed by the full-time French
chef, Jean-Marc Michel, or the vegetarian chef, Adam Gleeson will pamper even
the most exigent palates. Château La Mas de Montet is definitely a serene place
worth coming back. |
