A former 13th C. “Noble Haunt”, subsequently altered over five centuries up to
French Revolution, the Domaine de la Barde, with its manor house, mill forge and
park featuring centuries-old trees, will offer you a warm welcome near to the
centre of the village.
The pure Mansart-style forge has been restored and its bread and pastry baking
ovens rebuilt in lauze stone.
The classical garden has been recreated on the spirit of the 18th
century.
Set in the park you will find tennis-facilities and a jet-stream swimming pool
to gently massage you or where you can simply relax on a beach surrounded by
varied varieties of flowers; the adjacent orangery offers table-tennis, a
gymnastic session followed by a sauna and cold or hot showers.
To round off the day, Domaine de la Barde offers charming meadow and
trout-stream riverside walks. After which you can mend your way back to the
manor house via the classical garden, bidding goodnight to the statue of
“Threatening Eros”!. |
