Chateau de Rhodes, is just outside the quiet provincial village of La Bastide de
Serou. Enjoy the 8 hectares (20 acres) of beautiful countryside, with its 300
year old oak trees. Walk next to a lazy stream as it meanders its way through
the Chateau grounds and view the Pyrenees mountains in the distance.
The chateau itself is comprised of three buildings. The 19th century building,
which has undergone major renovations, has large bedrooms with individual
bathrooms.
The main chateau itself has a very interesting winding staircase. For your
relaxation, there is a magnificent billiard room and billiard table. Wood
burning fireplaces abound. Dinner is served in the large formal dining room.
Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century antiques are placed tastefully throughout the
Chateau.
Behind the main chateau is an 18th century building which consists of large
rooms and high ceilings. In the third building, which was once a horse stable,
the second floor has been converted to a large recreation room with a
conversation pit, large fireplace, pinball machines and ping pong table. On the
lower floor of the main building is a large conference room. Take note of the
cabinetry: it is 140 years old. The large conference table is available for
meetings and seminars.
Adjacent to this room is the entertainment centre with a large screen TV and a
wide selection of movies. A complete Karaoke set-up also awaits your pleasure. |
