The Chateau d’Audrieu, as seen today, dates from the beginning of the 18th
century, but its history goes back in to the time of William the Conqueror, when
it was the residence of the Lord of Percy, the first ruler of these lands, whom
according to legend was the personal chef of the Conqueror... The building was
devastated by the wars, except for the two wings from the 15th century which
still remain, as well as the central building from the 18th century. Bedrooms
have been created in the wings whilst the central body houses the dining rooms,
drawing rooms and some prestigious suites. All of the bedrooms have a small
entrance (foyer) to guarantee privacy. There are five double attic rooms with
country style decoration which are used essentially by younger clients or for
single occupancy. The “First” category rooms are more spacious with more
luxurious decoration and marble bathrooms. The Deluxe rooms and suites have king
size beds and bathrooms particularly luxurious, some of them with Jacuzzi. An
interesting observation about this outstanding chateau is that in its half board
rate, one can choose “a la carte” any delicacy desired. |

Paris:
Take Autoroute A13 direction to Rouen
and continue on to Caen, then continue
on N13 in the direction to Cherbourg -
Bayeux and get off at Loucelles-Audrieu.
Then take the direction to Audrieu and
when you come to where you have to go
either left or right, go left in the
direction of D158. At the next
intersection, make a left following the
direction of “Eglise - Chateau”. Pass
through the village of Audrieu, and the
chateau will be further up on the left
hand side. |
