Chateau Bellevue would not be half the inviting place it is, if it were not for
the owner, Mrs. Michele Consolaro, a charming woman who after having been an
English tutor for several years, although she is French, decided to come here
and start this charming hotel. At the time her husband was the chef,
unfortunately he passed away. She has continued running the place putting above
all, a lot of love in doing it. Chateau Bellevue is a typical small French
chateau, the rooms are nice, clean and spacious, the restaurant, very gourmet
and stylish. The little village is in the heart of Armagnac. In case you don’t
know, Armagnac is like Cognac but better, at least in my opinion, and I am a
cognac or better say, Armagnac enthusiast. Here in the region of Armagnac, the
same as if you go in the region of Cognac which is nearby, you can stop at any
bottler and taste like you would wines, only that there better be a designated
driver, because the tasting can rapidly go to your head. And in France, they
apply D. U. I.’s just like in the States...
By all means, if Michele Consolaro’s home is in your way don’t hesitate to stop
over, it is one of those places you will always remember as being gracious and
friendly. |
