Chateau Saint-Jean is nestling among the foliage of a verdant park decorated by
magnificient age-old trees, Château Saint-Jean rises at Montluçon between the
River Cher and the Great Auvergne Way.
This Castle was the former residence of the Malta Order Knights of Saint-Jean of
Jerusalem. It is since 1925 an exceptional hotel which has been visited by
famous guests as Lance Armstrong. The rooms, also accesible for handicapped
people, and the swimming pool are in the annexes.
Once a place of worship for the Order of Malta's Knights on their way to
Santiago de Compostella, la Chapelle de Saint-Jean is the oldest part of the
mansion and holds the gastronomic restaurant, where Thierry Douault, Head Chef,
together with his Team, offers variations on a Traditional Cuisine playing with
the colors & flavours from every season.
With its 20 rooms and 5 suites, heated pool, surrounding park and XIIth Chapelle,
Chateau Saint-Jean is an ideal stop over for visits to Auvergne and its
magnificent volcanoes. |
