Château de Noizay is a charming XVIth century residence, close to the châteaux
of the Loire, classified as a historical monument, with nice proportions and
surrounded by a 6 hectare (15 acres) park, with a delightful formal garden. The
lavishly decorated rooms with period furniture testify to this. The cuisine
follows the seasons and is enhanced by a fine wine cellar with Vouvray and other
Loire wines.
Each year, the Château selects the best regional wines that will improve the
wine list. Softness of the valleys, roundness of the slopes, splendour of the
estuary, so many images and unforgettable sights which guide the winegrowers in
developing a rare and so coveted product.
All throughout the day, the park offers a great choice of relaxing or sporty
activities. Aperitif on the large terrace on the southern side of the château,
swimming pool and tennis courts at the far end of the park, or even simply enjoy
a day on the swing hammock under hundred years old trees.
Château de Noizay once was used as a refuge by the Protestants during the
Amboise conspiracy in 1560. The splendour of bygone days has been authentically
recreated here. |

Take the motorway A10 (Bordeaux) as far
as exit 18: (2 hours from Paris) Amboise
- Château Renault, then take D31 towards
Amboise ( do not cross The Loire ),
followed by N152, direction Vouvray,
Tours. 8 Kms. after passed Amboise turn
right D78 to Noizay. The castle is
behind the church. |
