Chateau de Marçay

Chateau de Marçay is in the heart of the land of Rabelais. The twin towers of this magnificent century chateau, which lies near Chinon where Joan of Arc met King Charles VII, soar above a landscape that once enchanted François Rabelais. The château’s tastefully decorated rooms, which blend wood panelling, sumptuous materials and period furniture, also offer every modern comfort.
The refined cuisine is enhanced by an excellent selection of fine wines and Loire vintages. The elegance and charm of the hall suggest greediness. The chef's cuisine makes the Loire wines divinely sing. Every evening the ballet of waiters is done with discretion for aperitif in the park as well as in the dining hall. In summer time, lunches are served on the garden side, between the two wings, one of which is topped with a mansard roof. They both have at their extremities a polygonal tower. One is flanked at one of its corners with an elegant corbelling turret on a sculpted bracket.
In the evening, after having taken advantage of the region's attractive curiosities, such as Montsorereau and its literature château or Chinon and its ruins of atmosphere or yet Richelieu and its private hotels, you may rest by the chimney in the main lounge or even in small private lounges near the bar.
