At the end of the 14th century, this chateau was known as an ancient, stately
hide-out, truly a stronghold, commanding the Dronne valley. Naudonnet du
Périgord, who was captain of cavalry at Bourdeilles, try in vain to seize this
chateau.
La Borie was for a long time the main manor of the Arnault family, very
perigordine, who supplied this region with both magistrates and the
ecclesiastical gentry.
The Chateau de la Borie-Saulnier is located on the heart of the "Perigord vert",
near Brantôme, the Venice of "Perigord". this residence was here during the
religious wars and has benefited by the restorations, making large bedrooms and
bathrooms that represented that era, furnitures, fabrics, wallpapers and
engravings.
It also counts on a park of 5 hectares, private swimming pool (11m x 6m),
library and lounge of 180 m², and a Stable Napoléon III which can welcome 2
horses in individual horse-box. |
