L’Abbaye de Talloires is located on the banks of one of the most picturesque lakes
in the French Alps. This chateau has maintained a genuine ambience throughout
the centuries, with its 17th Century stones reflected on the surface of the
lake’s clear waters. More than just a hotel, L’Abbaye de Talloires is a charming
haven of serenity and refinement. All the rooms (33 units) offer breathtaking
views of the peaceful lake, stunning mountains or historical gardens. Combining
old-style architecture with modern facilities, each room is individually
decorated. Suite Jean Reno is often used as a wedding suite while the Prior’s
Room is a classified monument that charms guests with its mystical atmosphere.
Spend time on the private pontoon by the lakeside while sipping cool cocktails
and listening to the sounds of the piano. Take a ride in the hotel’s motorboat
and admire the surroundings of the lake from the waterside.
L’Abbaye de Talloires’ main restaurant serves excellent haute cuisine with the
menu changing every two months while the Terrace restaurants offers the popular
Buffet Cezanne in summer. As cuisine is one of the hotel’s strengths, there are
cooking courses on offer complete with visits to the historic wine cellar. Enjoy
refined evenings in the piano bar with its innovative cocktails, musical
ambience and century-old vaulted ceilings.
Many personalities of the highest rank have been accommodated in the abbey
throughout its long history including Napoleon III, Paul Cezanne, Winston
Churchill and President Nixon. |
